CAIRO –7 August 2018: Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatob believes that Egyptian-born Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah will not be among the contenders for the Premier League top goal scorer race.

Berbatov believes that the Golden Boot winner will be Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

“I think the top Premier League goal scorer will be Harry Kane. He should be aiming for 30 or more goals again,” Berbatov told the press on Monday.

The Egyptian winger won the Golden Boot last season after scoring 32 goals for his club, Liverpool, while Kane scored only 30 goals.

Berbatov added, “He had a tremendous World Cup campaign. His confidence will boom with his achievements over the summer; coming off that, he’ll have the knowledge on how to break down the teams with solid defenses.”

Kane won 2018 World Cup golden boot after scoring six goals for his nation, England, who achieved the fourth position in the competition.

Harry Kane won 2016 and 2017 Premier League top goal scorer, but he failed to win the award last year.

The English striker will find tough competition from Salah, Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku.
