CAIRO – 2 August 2018: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, established himself as one of the most iconic players in the world of football with his amazing performances with his club and Egypt's national team.

Salah is now a role model for the youth and it became a dream for many of them to meet the Egyptian star.

Ammar Halabi, a Syrian refugee kid who has muscular dystrophy, had a dream to meet the Egyptian winger. His dream got one step closer when Salah went with Liverpool for their pre-season tour in USA where Ammar and his family currently live.

“The doctor called me and I told her Ammar wanted to meet Mohamed Salah. The doctor told us it would be tough but she’d try,” Ammar’s mother, Radwa Said, narrated.

Once the Egyptian star was contacted by Make-A-Wish Foundation, whose mission is to fulfill the dreams of children with serious illnesses, he decided to meet Ammar.

Radwa added: “When they called to tell us it was happening and he was going to meet Salah, Ammar was so happy, really excited. His happiness didn’t compare to anything.”

Salah met Ammar and gave him a signed shirt and posed for pictures with Ammar and his family.

Ammar spoke after he met his idol, saying: "Everybody loves Salah and I want to be like him. He is a great person."
