CAIRO – 25 July 2018: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, is set to start his new season with Liverpool when the team faces Manchester City on Wednesday.

The Egyptian winger will appear in a game with Liverpool for the first time since the UEFA Champions League final; Salah left the final after 25 minutes as he was tackled by Sergio Ramos in the game which Liverpool lost 3-1.

According to Liverpool official website, Salah and his teammates, Sadio Mane and Marko Grujic, will play against Man City after they returned from their summer vacation. The trio participated with their national teams at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Salah was named on Tuesday among the nominees for FIFA Player of the Year award.

Salah made history as he is the first Egyptian player ever to be nominated for such an award.

Salah is nominated for the award alongside Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Kylian Mbappe, Kevin De Bruyne, Antoine Griezmann, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Rafael Varane.




Salah won the nomination after an amazing season with his club, Liverpool, having scored 44 goals, including 32 goals in the league to be the Premier League top goal scorer.

He also led the Egyptian national team to the 2018 World Cup in Russia for the first time since 1990 in Italy.
