CAIRO – 25 July 2018: Egyptian volleyball Women’s team defeated Cameroon 3-0 to achieve the Gold Medal at the African Youth games in Algeria.

The Women’s team has had an amazing run at the tournament defeating Tunisia and Cameroon respectively at the first round.

They had a tough clash against the host nation, Algeria, at the semi finals but they won the game 3-0 to reach the final.

On the other hand, he men’s team won the Silver Medal as they lost the final to Nigeria 3-2.

Egypt won the first and third sets with the same result 25-23 while their opponents won the second and fourth sets 25-14 and the game went to the fifth set which ended 16-14 for Nigeria.

Egypt participates at the African Youth Games with 269 players at 27 different sports.

Egypt are leading the medal table with 110 medals including 61 Gold Medals.

Algeria hosts the third African Youth Games between 18 and 28 July.
