CAIRO – 23 July 2018: Al-Ahly board has not reached a final decision regarding the club's participation at the Saudi Egyptian Super Cup.

Egyptian League champions, Al-Ahly, will challenge Saudi League Champions, Al-Hilal, for King Salman’s League Winners' Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
On the other hand, Egyptian Cup champions, Zamalek, will challenge Al-Ittihad in Cairo to win President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s Cup in Egypt.
Egyptian Football Federation suggested November 6 for President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s Cup and November 8 for King Salman’s League Winners' Super Cup.

“The football committee and the coaching staff will make the decision soon,” Al-Ahly Assistant Manager, Mohamed Youssef, told press.

If Al-Ahly reaches CAF Champions League final, their game against Al-Hilal will be rescheduled as the team will play the Champions League final first leg on November 2 and the second leg on November 9.
The Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup was played twice in 2001 and 2003.
In 2001, Al-Hilal won King of Saudi Arabia Cup defeating Ismaily 2-1, while Al-Ittihad won President of Egypt Cup defeating Al-Ahly 3-2.

In 2003, Al-Ittihad won King of Saudi Arabia Cup defeating Ismaily 1-0, while Zamalek won President of Egypt Cup defeating Al-Ittihad in penalty shoot-out.
