CAIRO – 23 July 2018: Al-Ahly football team will travel on Tuesday to Gaborone, Botswana, to face their giant rivals, Township rollers, at the fourth round of CAF Champions League group stage.

Al-Ahly defeated Township 3-0 on Tuesday, July 17, thanks to three goals from Walid Azarro, Ali Maaloul and Eslam Mohareb. It was Al-Ahly’s first victory under their new manager, Patrice Carteron.

Al-Ahly’s victory was a great step toward reaching the next round at the competition after a frustrating start, as they ended their first game at the group with a goalless draw with Espérance at home before losing 2-0 to Kampala City in Uganda.

Al-Ahly moved up to the second position in the group with four points, three points behind the leaders, Esperence.

Carteron’s chosen squad for the game against Township consists of: Sherif Ekramy, Mohamed el-Shennawy, Ali Lotfi, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hany, Sabry Rahil, Ali Maaloul, Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Naguib, Salif Coulibaly, Amr Elsolia, Hossam Ashour, Hesham Mohamed, Mido Gaber, Walid Soliman, Ahmed Hamdy, Eslam Mohareb, Karim Nedved, Moamen Zakaria, Junior Ajayi, Marwan Mohsen, Salah Mohsen and Walid Azarro.

Al-Ahly plays in Group A alongside Botswana’s Township Rollers F.C., Uganda’s Kampala City and Tunisia’s Espérance.
