CAIRO – 15 July 2018: Egypt's volleyball team opened their way to the 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championships by beating Poland.

The match ended with Egypt winning 3-1 to reap the three valuable points at the beginning of the journey.

Egypt placed in Group D alongside Poland, Iraq and the title holders Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The Pharaohs' best achievement in the tournament was fourth in two consecutive editions in 2006 and 2010.

Egypt’s men will play their second match on Monday against Bosnia and Herzegovina at 3 p.m.

On the other hand, the Egyptian women team is in Group D of the 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championships next to Brazil, Finland and Ukraine.

Egypt’s delegation is headed by Ehab Hassanein for the Men team, while Hayat Khattab for the Women team.

Egypt’s Men team includes: Hesham Salah el-Din, Yasser Saad, Mohamed El Henawy, Salah Atta, Mohamed Saad, Ahmed Khamis, Ahmed Fadl, Hossam Masoud, El Sayed Moussa, Abdel Nabi Hassan, Motawea Abou El Kheir and Ahmed Abdel Fattah.
