CAIRO – 6 July 2018: Al-Ahly’s striker, Walid Azarou, reign comes to end as he is set to join the Chinese side, Hebei China Fortune F.C.

It is widely reported that Al-Ahly’s officials reached an agreement with the Chinese club to sell them the Moroccan striker for $10 million and both sides didn’t announce the news waiting to finish final negotiations.

Walid Azarou, 23, joined Al-Ahly in the last summer transfer window coming from Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi. He featured in 40 matches with the Red devils; he scored 26 goals, led the Egyptian League’s top scorer’s list by scoring 18 goals.

Since Azarou joined Al-Ahly, he faced many criticisms as he wasn’t lucky against the opponents’ nets, missed many chances in critical matches. But former Al-Ahly’s coach, Hossam El-Badry, insisted to put him in the starting line-up in many matches giving him confidence until he won the fans’ hearts when he scored a hat-trick against Etoile du Sahel in 2017/2018 CAF Champions league’s semi-final.
