CAIRO - 4 July 2018: Sevilla’s defender, Clement Lenglet, informed the club’s officials that he will join Barcelona this week, according to the Spanish newspaper, MARCA.

On the other hand, Sevilla signed Croatia’s and Red Bull Salzburg's defender, Duje Ćaleta-Car, to be a replacement for the French defender.

The 22-year-old Lenglet shined with Sevilla this season; he led the Spanish team to the 2017\2018 Champions League’s quarter-final and the Spanish Cup’s final against Barcelona.

Lenglet’s contract with Sevilla extends to summer 2021, and his release clause is €35 million.

Lenglet chose joining Barcelona despite the probability of finding competition with the Blaugrana’s defenders, Gerard Pique and Samuel Umititi.
