CAIRO – 2 July 2018: Ismaily SC sealed on Monday a free deal with Essam al-Hadary, the national team's goalkeeper.

The oldest player ever to participate in the World Cup has reached an agreement with Ismaily after his contract with Al-Taawon FC of Saudi Arabia has ended.

Ismaily loaned the team’s goalkeeper Mohamed Awaad to Al-Wahda FC, which plays in the Saudi Premier league, and signed Hadary as a replacement.

Hadary joined Ismaily for the first time in 2009 coming from Switzerland’s FC Cion; then joined the team again in 2014 coming from Wadi Degla, which makes this time the third time for him to play for Ismaily.

The players of Ismaily are getting ready to finally participate in CAF Champions League, as the team hasn't appeared in the tournament since 2010.

Ahmed Adel Abdel Moniem, Al-Ahly's former goalkeeper, and Mohamed Abo Gabal, Zamalek's former goalkeeper, were the top targets for Ismaily to replace Awaad, but the team failed to close both deals.
