CAIRO – 26 June 2018: France ended their last group stage game against Denmark with a goalless draw on Tuesday at luzhniki stadium in Moscow. The draw qualified both teams to the second round of the World Cup.

France entered the game after they secured a spot at the second round from two straight victories over Australia and Peru, respectively.

The French players tried to end the group stage on top of the group through their game against Denmark, who had four points from a victory over Peru and a draw against Australia.

Both teams failed to create many chances to score and they were satisfied with the result that took them to the second round.

Australia had a chance to reach the second round as they had one point and they were hoping for a victory over Peru and the Danish team to lose against France.

The Danish team received good news when Peru opened the score in the first half by André Carrillo from a screamer.

Peru doubled the score in the second half by veteran striker, Paolo Guerrero, and won the game 2-0 to achieve their first victory at the World Cup since their victory over Iran in 1978 World Cup.

France leads the group with seven points, three points head of the second placed, Denmark, while Peru ended their participation in the tournament at the third place with three points, two points ahead of the fourth placed, Australia.
