Abo Rida confirms Salah's availability for Russia clash

CAIRO – 19 June 2018: Egyptian Football Association President, Hany Abo Rida, reveled on Tuesday that national team winger, Mohamed Salah, is fit for the game against Russia.

“Salah is ready and he participated in the last training session with his teammates and he is fit to play against Russia,” Abo Rida told Filgoal.




Salah missed the first game against Uruguay and he watched Egypt's 1-0 loss from the bench.

Abo Rida continued “In the last training session, there was a test for his shoulder. He completed the training session and he did not feel any kind of pain.”




Egypt faces the hosts, Russia, at their second game of the 2018 World Cup in Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg.

Russia needs to defeat Egypt to secure their qualification to the second round, while the Egyptian team needs to defeat Russia to keep their chances to reach the second round.

The Egyptian team is searching for their first point at this tournament as they lost the opening game 1-0 to Uruguay and their first victory at the World Cup in their third participation. Egypt played five games; lost three, and ended two games with a draw.
