CAIRO – 15 June 2018:In Ekaterinburg, Russia, on Friday afternoon, in the Ekaterinburg Arena, the World Cup will announce the return of a football nation that has achieved everything but history at the World Cup.

Egypt faces Uruguay in their opener at the group stage (Group A) at 02:00 p.m. (CLT).

Two previous participations for the Pharaohs, at 1934 and 1990, wrote history for the most successful country in Africa. Both previous appearances didn’t witness success; only two goals through Abdel Rahman Fawzy in 1934 at a game that ended with a 4-2 loss against Hungary; and Magdy Abdel Ghany’s single goal in the 1-1 draw against The Netherlands in 1990.

After 28 years, Salah’s teammates look for a surprise in Russia. Everyone hopes for a qualification to the second round; which is possible.

Egyptian fans at cafes, homes, squares and the Ekaterinburg Arena, will unite behind their Egyptian national team and write history for Egypt.
