CAIRO – 13 June 2018: Egypt national team Argentinean manager, Hector Cuper, revealed on Monday that the national team players are ready for the World Cup opener against Uruguay on Friday June 15.

“I really appreciate the Uruguayan squad. They are a tough opponent with their two strikers, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez, but our players are enthusiastic and they have the desire to give everything and play an excellent game,” Cuper told press on Wednesday.

Egypt national team delegation left Chechnya Capital, Grozny, on Wednesday afternoon to Yekaterinburg, where they will play their first World Cup game.

Asked about the starting line-up against Uruguay, the Argentinean said “We already settled on the eleven players who will start against Uruguay but we will not reveal the team until the game day.”

The team will train on Thursday for the first time at Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg.

Cuper added “We will do everything we can to achieve victory.”

Cuper led Egypt to reach the World Cup for the third time in history and the first time since 1990 in Italy.

The World Cup draw put Egypt in Group A alongside Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and the host nation, Russia.
