Uruguay’s Tabárez praises Egypt’s Cuper

CAIRO – 9 June 2018:Uruguay’s coach, ÓscarTabárez, praised Egypt’s Argentinean coach, Hector Cuper, before their expected clash on June 15.

Egypt will play against Uruguay in their first match in Group A at Ekaterinburg Arena stadium, as they are placed alongside the host Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Uruguay won its last friendly match against Uzbekistan 3-0, where it played its final warm-up before the World Cup in Russia.

“We have plenty of information about Egypt; we have been following them for a long time. No doubt you have to highlight their striker Mohamed Salah as their star,”Tabárez said in a press conference after Uzbekistan match.

“Cuper is a very good coach, enjoys a lot of prestige and was chosen by UEFA as the best coach of the year in 2000,” argued Tabárez.

Egypt didn’t taste any victory over the last five friendly matches: a 1-2 defeat against Portugal, 0-1 against Greece, 1-1 against Kuwait, 0-0 against Colombia and 0-3 loss against Belgium.
