EgyptAir plans to operate another 19 charter flights to bring nearly 3,000 fans to Russia to support the national team, the sources said, adding that the company is currently working to provide all necessary facilities to transport fans using the latest models of the highest levels of luxury.

Chairman of EgyptAir Safwat Moslem said that the additional flights will land at the airports that will witness Egypt’s matches in Group A; Grozny International Airport, Koltsovo International, Polkovo International, Volgograd International and Domodedovo International.

Moslem said the company is considering stepping up additional flights if the Egyptian team qualified to the following rounds and increased demand from Egyptian fans.

Flights between the two countries were halted in 2015 after a Russian passenger jet crashed in Sinai, killing all 224 people onboard. Flights were resumed starting from last April.

The World Cup draw put Egypt in Group A alongside Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
