CAIRO – 7 June 2018: Egyptian national team’s coach, Hector Cuper, believed that Egypt’s defensive performance wasn’t on form in the friendly game against Belgium, compared to the game against Colombia.

Egypt lost to Belgium 3-0 on Wednesday June 6 in their last friendly game before heading to Russia to participate at the 2018 World Cup. Egypt had previously tied with Colombia 0-0 in the friendly game held in Atleti Azzurri stadium in Italy.

“Compared to what we did against Colombia, our defense wasn’t good tonight,” Cuper said in the press conference after the match.

Egypt national team manager, Cuper, had the last chance to test the players before choosing the starting line-up for the World Cup.

“But we are pleased with our strikers' performance; Marwan Mohsen, Amr Warda and Kahraba were good,” Cuper added.

Mohsen and Warda started the game while Kahraba participated as a substitute in the second half.

Despite the loss, Egypt played a good game and they created many chances to score but the Belgian defense foiled all the Egyptian attempts.
