CAIRO – 6 June 2018: Liverpool winger, Andy Robertson, believes that his Egyptian teammate, Mohamed Salah, will build on his success at his debut season with the club and will reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

“Ronaldo and Messi have done it for six or seven seasons and he’s just done it one. But I’ve got no doubt Salah can build on it and do it over that period of time," Robertson told press on Tuesday.

The Egyptian winger has had a stunning debut season with Liverpool, scoring 44 goals in all competitions, including 32 goals in the Premier League where he was crowned top scorer, and awarded the golden boot.

“It’s the way the gaffer wants him to play, so hopefully he can continue and really build on it and become one of the names alongside Messi and Ronaldo,” added Robertson.

Barcelona’s Messi and Real Madrid’s Ronaldo have monopolized the Ballon d’ Or award since 2008, they won the award five times each and Salah is expected to battle them for the award after a great season at the Premier League.
