CAIRO – 27 May 2018: Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah will undergo an X-ray again after few hours on Sunday to assure the extent of his injury. Liverpool’s officials confirmed that Salah’s status announcement will be through the Egyptian Football Association.

The Egyptian forward suffered an injury in the 31st minute after a fierce tackle from Real Madrid’s defender Sergio Ramos. Liverpool lost the Champions League final on Saturday for Real Madrid after a 3-1 defeat.

Salah said, as he told his family in a phone call early Sunday, that the preliminary medical checks showed that he does not suffer from a shoulder dislocation or any other serious injuries that will prevent him from joining the World Cup on June 14.

Salah returned to England after the game instead of Italy where he was supposed to join Egyptian national team’s delegation. Egypt will play against Colombia and Belgium on June 1, 6, respectively, in preparation for the 2018 World Cup.

Egyptian Football Association (EFA) president, Hany Abo Reida, denied reports claiming that Salah will be absent for two months, stressing that nothing has been confirmed yet.

After the Champions League final, the Egyptian national team's medical staff checked on Salah, where Liverpool’s medical staff said that he underwent an X-ray showing that Salah suffered from a shock in the shoulder joints. Egyptian national team’s doctor expressed his optimism that Salah will be in the World Cup as he may be out for only two or three weeks.
