CAIRO – 22 May 2018: Liverpool’s Croatian defender, Dejan Lovren, revealed on Monday that his Egyptian teammate, Mohamed Salah, is one of the best three players in the world.

“He has the quality, he has this world-class experience already and he is still calm; a man down to earth. He deserves every credit, every goal he has scored. He deserves to be in the top three,” Lovren told Liverpool’s website.

Salah has had a great relationship with the Croatian defender since joining the club from Roma last summer. Salah revealed many times that he considers Lovren his closest friend inside the club.

Asked about Salah’s chances to achieve the Ballon d’ Or award, he said, “I spoke to Salah about that, but it's still quite early. If we win the Champions League final, definitely he’s one of the contenders.”

Liverpool reached the UEFA Champions League final for the first time since 2007 and they will face the title holders, Real Madrid, on May 26 in Kiev.

Lovren spoke about the Champions League final, saying, “Now we have the biggest chance of our lives; for some of us, maybe it’s the only one. We need to be proud of ourselves; we did a great job from the beginning.”
