CAIRO – 20 May 2018: Egypt Youth team lost their chances in qualifying to the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations after losing to Senegal 6-7 by penalty shootout in Port Said.

The first leg in Dakar on Saturday ended with a goalless draw; the Egyptian team needed to achieve victory to reach the next round.

The penalty shootout saw dramatic events as Senegalese players harassed the Egyptian players before kicking.

The 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will be held in Niger between February 24 and March 10, 2019.

The top four teams of the tournament will qualify to 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland between May 25 and June 16.

Egypt achieved Africa U-20 Cup of Nations title four times in 1981, 1991, 2003 and 2013.
