CAIRO – 17 May 2018: Atlético Madrid's striker, Antoine Griezmann, who scored two of the three goals in the Europa League final that his team won, said he scored thanks to his confidence.

Atlético Madrid added their third European League title, after the ones achieved in 2010 and 2012, when they thrashed Olympique de Marseille 3-0 on Wednesday in the final played in Lyon.

The French player analyzed the clash against the French team, highlighting the difficulty of the victory as they played in France, Olympique Marseille’s home.

"When I left home at the age of 14, I wanted to live these moments; I hope I can win more titles. Marseille is a team that works very well; we have taken advantage of every mistake. My goals have been scored due to confidence or coolness; I do not know what to call it," he said to BeIn Sports network.

This triumph assured the dominance of the Spanish teams in this competition as Spain dominates the list of winners with a total of 17 titles - Sevilla (5), Barcelona (3), Atlético Madrid (3), Valencia (3), Real Madrid (2) and Zaragoza (1).

Atlético Madrid's Argentinean coach, Diego Simeone, won his sixth title with the Rojiblancos in six and a half years. He has won all the major competitions (one La Liga, one Copa del Rey, one Spanish Super Cup and one European Super Cup and two European League titles). It is worth mentioning that Atletico Madrid reached the Champions League final twice in 2014 and 2016; but they lost both times against their eternal rivals Real Madrid.
