Egypt keeps its 46th place in FIFA monthly ranking

CAIRO – 17 May 2018: The Fédération Internationale de Football, FIFA, announced on Thursday the monthly classification of the national teams all over the world which didn’t show major changes this month in the first 47 places.

World Cup title holders, Germany, kept their leadership this month over Brazil, Belgium, Portugal, Argentina, Switzerland, France, Spain, Chile and Poland.

Egypt maintained its position in the 46th place, coming fifth in the African ranking after Tunisia (14), Senegal (28), Congo DR (38) and Morocco (42).

Saudi Arabia jumped three places to be in the 67th place as they didn’t play a lot of international friendly matches since April 2018.

Saudi Arabia defeated Algeria and Greece 2-0 in international friendly matches played this May.

Saudi Arabia plays in Group A alongside Egypt, Uruguay and the hosts, Russia. Saudi Arabia will play the opening World Cup game on June 14 at 5 p.m. against Russia.

The Arab teams will face each other at their last group stage match on June 25.
