CAIRO – 16 May 2018: Saudi Arabia defeated Greece 2-0 on Tuesday at Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, Spain, in preparation for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Saudi Arabia opened the score after 20 minutes through a header by Salem al-Dawsari after an assist from Mohammed al-burayk.

Saudi Arabia had many chances to double the score but all their attempts were blocked by the Greek defense to end the first half 1-0 for Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia doubled the score 10 minutes before the final whistle when Mohammed Kanoo received an amazing pass from Abdullah Otayf and dribbled the Greek defender, putting the ball in the back of the net to make the score 2-0 for Saudi Arabia.

Before the game against Greece, Saudi Arabia played five friendly games since their qualification to the World Cup. They lost to Iraq and Belgium, defeated Moldova and Algeria and their game against Ukraine ended with a draw.

Saudi Arabia plays in Group A alongside Egypt, Uruguay and the hosts, Russia. The Arab teams will face each other at their last group stage match.
