Maaloul announces Tunisia's preliminary list for World Cup

CAIRO – 15 May 2018: Tunisia’s national team manager, Nabil Maaloul, announced on Monday the preliminary squad list for the World Cup in Russia.

Maaloul’s preliminary list consists of:

Goalkeepers:

Aymen Mathlouthi, Moez Ben Cherifia, Farouk Ben Mustapha and Mouez Hassen

Defenders:

Hamdi Nagguez, Ali Maaloul, Yohan Benalouane, Dylan Bronn, Rami Bedoui, Oussama Haddadi, Yassine Meriah, Khalil Chemmam, Syam Ben Youssef and Bilel Mohsni.

Midfielders:

Ellyes Skhiri, Ferjani Sassi, Mohamed Amine Ben Amor, Karim Laribi, Saîf-Eddine Khaoui, Ghaylène Chaalali, Mohamed Larbi , Ahmed Khalil and Wahbi Khazri.

Strikers:

Fakhreddine Ben Youssef, Anice Badri, Naïm Sliti, Ahmed Akaïchi, Bassem Srarfi and Saber Khalifa.

The Tunisian team will miss their biggest star of the qualification campaign, Youssef Msakni, as he picked up a knee injury during his participation with his Qatari club, Al Duhail, and he will be ruled out for four months.



The team will also miss Esperence’s striker, Taha Yassine Khenissi, who picked a muscle injury during the last game of the Tunisian League against JS Kairouan.



Tunisia started their preparation for the World Cup on Sunday at home and they will travel to Portugal on May 25 to face their national team three days later.

Tunisia will also play two friendly games against Turkey and Spain before their participation in the World Cup.

Tunisia plays in Group G alongside England, Belgium and Panama.
