Zidane praises Salah after great season

CAIRO – 8 May 2018: Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane hailed Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah after a great debut season with his club.

“I don't know if Salah will be in contention for the Ballon d'Or, but he has had a great season," the manager told press on Tuesday.

Salah and his teammates will face Zidane and his team in the UEFA Champions League final on May 26 and he is expected to challenge their biggest star, Cristiano Ronaldo, for the Ballon D’Or award.

“The game won't be Cristiano against Salah; it will be Real Madrid against Liverpool," Zidane added.

Salah has had a stunning season with Liverpool, scoring 43 goals including 31 in the League to be the Premier League top goal scorer, four goals ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.



Zidane revealed his predictions for the final, saying, “It's a final and it will be very intense. It will be a spectacular game, open and with chances for both teams."

Zidane hopes to lead his team to their third consecutive Champions League title, while Salah, who led his team to their first Champions League final since 2007, hopes to win his first trophy with the Reds.
