CAIRO – 30 April 2018: Ramadan Sobhi, Stoke City attacking midfielder, has refused an offer from Saudi club Al-Wehda to sign the player for next season.

Sobhi has stuck to continuing his career in Europe for the foreseeable future, assuring that if he decided to leave Europe, Al-Ahly would be his only destination. Sobhi had previously apologized to Al-Ahly when asked to rejoin the team, owing to his desire to continue in Europe.

The 21-year-old Egyptian participated with Stoke City in 43 games in all competitions, scoring three goals and making three assists.

Hatem bin Abdul-Hamid Khaimi, president of Al-Wehda, announced that his team had entered into serious negotiations to sign Sobhi. “I’ll not hide that there are negotiations with Ramadan Sobhi, and we plan to sign seven new players on the highest levels to compete in the local and continental competitions,” Khaimi said to DRN radio station.
