CAIRO – 27 April 2018: The 2018 Women's Youth World Handball Championship draw held in Basel, Switzerland put the Egyptian national team at one of the toughest groups in the tournament.

Egypt will play in Group B alongside Croatia, Hungary, Chile, Sweden and Denmark.

Denmark achieved the title twice in 2006 and 2012 while Sweden won the 2010 title.

The title holders Russia, plays in Group C alongside Norway, Japan, China, Netherlands and Argentina.

The draw put the host nation, Poland, in Group A alongside Germany, Romania, Brazil, Angola and Slovakia.

Tunisia plays in Group D alongside Spain, France, South Korea, Montenegro and Kazakhstan.

Egypt hopes to secure one of the top four positions at the group to reach the next round.

Egypt qualified to the tournament after achieving the 2017 African Women's Youth Handball Championship title in Ivory Coast.

Egypt participates in the tournament for the second time in their history and the national team participated in the last edition in Slovakia and they were placed in the ninth position.

Poland hosts the tournament between August 1 and 19.
