CAIRO – 25 April 2018: Roma’s Argentinean defender, Federico Fazio, believes in his team’s ability to return in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, despite their 5-2 loss on Tuesday in the first leg in Liverpool.

“We will fight until the last moment. We are a great team; we have reached this far and we still want to go on,” Fazio told the club’s official website after the game.

The Argentinean witnessed his team’s comeback against Barcelona when they lost the quarter-final first leg 4-1 and won the second leg 3-0 to reach the semi-finals.

“We always focus on the positives; we are fighters and we will give absolutely everything until the last second,” added Fazio.

Liverpool destroyed the Italian side in the first leg, dominating the game since its start and leading 5-0 until the last 10 minutes, when Roma scored two late goals by Edin Dzeko and Diego Perotti to keep on their hopes of reaching the final alive.

Asked about the key to win the second leg, Fazio said, “We are not beaten yet. Once again, with the strength of our fans behind us, we will fight to the last moment to try and turn this tie around."
