CAIRO – 25 April 2018: Japanese Southampton defender Maya Yoshida revealed on Tuesday that his team has to forget their loss in the FA Cup and focus on their battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

“We’ve finished with the FA Cup and now we must focus on the Premier League and staying up,” Yoshida told Southern Daily Echo on Tuesday.

Southampton lost 2-0 to Chelsea on Sunday in the FA Cup semi-finals and the team is now focusing on the upcoming game in the league against Bournemouth.

Yoshida spoke about the game against Bournemouth, saying, “It is going to be crucial for us. We have to make sure we get three points. It is a home game and a derby, and we have to fight to stay in the Premier League.”

Southampton is suffering this season in the league. They are in the 18th position with 29 points and four points behind the 17th-placed Swansea City.

“We need a good rest and must get ready to put in a performance, and we need to play better,” added Yoshida.
