CAIRO – 22 April 2018: Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted on Friday that he would like to work again as a coach, after he was dismissed at the end of last September as coach of Bayern Munich.

"I would like to work again, but that does not depend on me; if I find the right option, the right project, I will be happy to follow," Ancelotti said at a press conference in Geneva at the match held for Solidarity.

Bayern Munich announced on September 28, 2017 the dismissal of Ancelotti after the humiliating 3-0 defeat against Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The Italian coach arrived at Bayern in 2016 as successor to Pep Guardiola, and he achieved the fifth consecutive German Championship title for the Bavarian club in his first season. However, he was knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals and from the German Cup in the semi-finals.

Ancelotti refused to rule out the possibility of taking charge of Arsenal’s coaching position after Arsene Wenger announcement that he will resign at the end of the season.

“It's a great decision, but I think it's the decision Mr. Wenger [made] with a lot of respect for the club, and also I think the club have shown a lot of respect,” he added.

“That is right; Wenger did a fantastic job and is doing a fantastic job with Arsenal, because he is in the semi-final of the Europa League. The Gunners know their own future; if their plans involve me, then I’m pleased from a professional point of view, but at the moment, there’s nothing else,” he concluded.

Many reports have spread over the past two days as to who could succeed Wenger, with former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique and current Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri sharing the list with Ancelotti.
