Klopp’s mentality is perfect for Salah: Ranieri

CAIRO – 18 April 2018: FC Nantes manager Claudio Ranieri revealed on Tuesday that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s mentality helped Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah improve.

“For Salah, you could understand he was a great player even when he was playing for Chelsea. Klopp’s mentality is perfect for him, and playing for Fiorentina and Roma was very important for his career," Ranieri told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.



Salah joined Chelsea in 2014 but failed to earn a starting position at the club, so he left to Italy, where he played for Fiorentina and Roma.



Salah returned to England last summer to play in the Premier League, but this time for Liverpool, where he became a key player on the team.

Salah will face his former team, Roma, in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Ranieri, who managed Roma for two years, believes that the Italian team could defeat Liverpool.

“Di Francesco will study Liverpool. They are not beaten yet; the Roma side that we admired against Barcelona can make it,” added Ranieri.

Roma surprised all football fans when they defeated Barcelona 3-0 in the second leg of the quarter-finals after losing the first leg in Barcelona 4-1.
