CAIRO – 9 April 2018: Manchester City’s Brazilian midfielder, Fernando Luiz, known as Fernandinho, believes that his team will not give up their chances to defeat Liverpool and reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals despite the 3-0 loss in the first leg.

“It won’t be easy, but we want to fight for that. We will fight until the end. We need our fans and supporters to be together, and we will see what happens. I hope we can do our job,” Fernandinho said at the pre-game press conference on Monday.

Manchester City suffered a heavy loss against Liverpool on Wednesday in Champions League before losing the Manchester Derby 3-2 on Saturday after originally leading the game 2-0.

The midfielder spoke about the team’s recent setbacks, saying, “Two defeats is not easy, but it happens at the best teams; you have to keep going, because what we have done this season has been amazing and now we are so close to becoming champions and we want to go through in the Champions League.”

Manchester City defeated Liverpool 5-0 at home in the Premier League, and City fans hope to repeat their victory to reach the semi-finals for the second time in their history.

The game will be hosted at Etihad Stadium in Manchester and is scheduled to begin at 8:45 p.m. (CLT).
