CAIRO – 6 April 2018: Manchester United club want to sign Chelsea’s winger, Willian Borges da Silva, this summer market to replace Juan Mata. The "Blues" winger ends his contract in 2020 and Chelsea would be willing to let him go if he receives an offer that matches what they paid for Shakhtar Donetsk; €30 million, according to the Spanish magazine SPORT.

Manchester United’s coach José Mourinho already tried to bring Willian last season. United held negotiations with the player's representative, who finally decided to stay at Chelsea to play in the Champions League.

However, it seems that now he will look favorably up on his departure, as Chelsea is facing some struggles in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Chelsea now is fifth in the Premier League standings and they must finish the league among the top four teams in order to secure a place in the next edition of the UEFA Champions league.

On the other hand, United’s Juan Mata is set to be free in 2019 after he recently renewed his contract for one only one year.

The Spanish midfielder has always fulfilled his team’s squad, with 182 appearances and 39 goals, but has always had difficulties in earning an undisputed starting position since Mourinho arrived to the ‘Reds’.

Despite United's intentions, Mata insisted at the beginning of the year that his desire was to continue in Manchester.

"Every day I try to tell myself how lucky and privileged I am, I try to take advantage of each training session and try to see how important it is to be a Manchester United player," Mata said.
