CAIRO – 31 March 2018: Thomas Tuchel, former coach of Borussia Dortmund, and Joachim Löw, Germany’s coach, are the two candidates to replace Unai Emery on the bench of Paris Saint Germain, current leader of French Ligue 1.

As reported by the French sports newspaper L'Equipe on Friday, PSG has opted for the German alternative. Apart from names like Antonio Conte, Allegri or even Luis Enrique, PSG is now betting on the names of the two German coaches.

Tuchel, former coach of Borussia Dortmund and currently without a team since leaving Borussia Dortmund in May 2017, and Joachim Löw, the German national team’s coach, are two of the most liked options at PSG, according to the French newspaper.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of PSG, has been in Qatar these days to negotiate the future of the French club's bench, and these two names are the ones that have had the most strength.

Despite this information, PSG sports director Antero Henrique has come back to defend Unai Emery, the current PSG coach.

“Every day we are confronted with information about the PSG coach,” Henrique said.

“To be clear, the coach of Paris Saint Germain is Unai Emery; he has a contract with the club and this is not the time to talk about this subject,” he added.
