CAIRO – 26 March 2018: Former Borussia Dortmund’s coach Thomas Tuchel has declined to succeed Jupp Heynckes at the helm of Bayern Munich, German newspaper Bild claimed on Sunday.

Reports also claimed that the German coach apparently negotiated with other clubs as well.

German magazine Kicker is confident that Tuchel will replace Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s coach, as the Gunners’ manager next season.

Tuchel has not been on the bench of any team as a manager since leaving Dortmund in 2017.

Successor of Heynckes at the helm of Bayern has occupied the German media for weeks and Tuchel was among the favorites.

Heynckes was supposed to step down at the end of this season, but Bayern’s coach reopened the issue a few days ago by saying at a press conference that he never said that he would definitively leave the club on June 30.

The veteran coach picked up the reins of the powerful Bavarian club after the dismissal of Italian Carlo Ancelotti and Germany now sees Bayern on track to achieve the ‘Treble’ (Bundesliga – German Cup – Champions League), like the one achieved in 2013 with Heynckes on the bench.

Bayern leads the league standings with 17 points over the second, Schalke.
Bayern is set to meet Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League’s quarter-final and most of the fans are seeing their favorites qualify to the semi-final.
