CAIRO – 24 March 2018: Gabriel Batistuta, AS Roma’s legend, spoke about the Champions League quarter-final between Roma and Barcelona.

The Argentinean striker, who scored 242 goals in Italy with Roma, Inter Fiorentina, has been asked if the Roman side had options against Barcelona. “Barca? Roma can do it. They can beat any team in the last eight,” he told the journalist.

“The team is playing well under Di Francesco, but the only reason Roma haven’t won another title is because of Juventus, who have it all,” he added.

Batistuta is in Rome to play a charity match at the Olimpico stadium. He appeared at the Olimpico for the first time in 15 years, when Italy took on the Rest of the World in a charity match.

“In recent years, Roma has always been near the top but the problem has always been that Juventus are just too strong,” he continued.

On Edin Dzeko, Batistuta said: “He’s a good player and Roma has done well not to sell him in January. Without him I don’t think that they would have reached the quarter-finals.”
