CAIRO – 24 March 2018: The Spanish right-back Juan Bernat wants to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, according to Kicker, due to the limited role he will assume in the team's strategy this season. Valencia’s former defender would be willing to return to La Liga.

Bernat has already informed the German leaders of his plans to leave. The German leaders themselves would fully understand player’s reasons for doing so and would even give their approval to his departure.

The defender was signed in 2014 after the payment of €10 million transfer fees, but has never managed to establish himself as an indisputable holder on the left side of Bayern.

His lack of prominence in recent months has led him to make the decision just a year before his contract with the Bundesliga Champion concludes.

Bayern has given permission to the Spanish player; he is looking for a substitute for next season.

On the other hand, FC Cologne’s defender, Jonas Hector, is reportedly linked to a possible move to Bayern Munich as a substitution for Bernat. Hector has been a consistent performer for Cologne since 2012. Bayern considers paying his release clause and signing him next summer.
