CAIRO – 13 March 2018: Mariano Diaz has become a real star since he left Real Madrid to play at Olympique de Lyon.
The striker had an interview with the Spanish radio ‘La Caden SER’ and gave the listeners some of his opinions.
The striker granted a few minutes to the listeners of the program of the Spanish radio la Cadena SER.

Mariano has a favorite to take the top European competition at the club level. How could it be otherwise, is his old team, where he played last year and achieved four titles with Real Madrid,: "I prefer Real Madrid, Manchester City, both in Premier and Champions is offering a very good level, but it will have to be seen when faced with a big club."

On the other hand, he stressed that his main objective is for Julen Lopetegui to count on him for the months of June and July to be in the next World Cup: "I came to France to be important and for me it would be a great experience to be in the squad of Spain; I hope."
However, he did not deny that there is tough competition for his position in Spain, which other players like Álvaro Morata or Diego Costa can play. "The other strikers have been doing very well and I'm starting now to prove myself," he said.

Finally, Mariano was asked about the possibility of returning to Real Madrid, which still owns a part of his rights, as recognized by the player himself. He does not rule out going back in the future, but at the moment he is happy there. "I have a five-year contract but going back to Madrid would be incredible, although at the time I decided it was best to leave the club," he said.

So far, his numbers in France have been spectacular, as he scored 18 goals (16 of which have been scored in Ligue 1) and had 6 assists.
