Egypt’s fifth friendly game will be against Colombia

CAIRO – 9 March 2018:Egyptian national team’s director, Ehab Lehita, revealed on Friday that Egypt will play against Colombia on June 1, in preparation for the 2018 World Cup.

Lehita assured that Colombia’s game is the fifth friendly game. “We will be satisfied with these five matches and we will not go into other matches.”

Egypt’s last game before the Russian World Cup will be against Belgium on June 6, in Brussels.

The Pharaohs’ five games are against Portugal, Greece, Kuwait, Colombia and Belgium.

The first game is against 2016 Euro’s Champion, Portugal, on March 23, then the second game will be against Greece on March 27. Both games take place in Zurich, Switzerland during FIFA international break.

On May 26, Egypt faces Kuwait at Gaber Al Ahmar international stadium before travelling to Italy to meet Colombia at Milan.

Belgium’s game on June 6 in Brussels will be nine days before the Egyptian kick-off in the World Cup against Uruguay on June 15. This kick-off has been awaited by Egyptian fans for 28 years.

Egypt then plays against the host, Russia, on June 19 before facing the Saudi Arabian side on June 25 in Group A last game.
