CAIRO – 27 February 2018: Al-Ahly’s Moroccan striker, Walid Azaroo, revealed on Tuesday that he hopes to be on the Moroccan national team squad for the World Cup in Russia.

“I am giving everything on the pitch to convince the national team coach to be with the national team in the World Cup. It is a great honor and I will fight to achieve it,” Azarro told Kooora on Tuesday.

The World Cup draw put Morocco in the group of death with Spain, Portugal and Iran.

Azarro, 22, shined with Al-Ahly this season, scoring 16 goals to be the Egyptian League top goal scorer, and he has received many offers to play in Europe.

Azarro spoke about his situation from these offers, saying, “My ambition is to achieve many domestic and continental titles with Al-Ahly, so leaving to play in Europe is a delayed step for me.”

Asked about his relations with Al-Ahly players, he said, “I have good relations with all the players and I have many friends on the team, like Ali Maaloul, Junior Ajayi, Amr El Solia and Saad Samir.”
