CAIRO – 25 February 2018: Egyptian national team coaching staff flew to Russia on Sunday to participate in the National Teams Workshop organized by FIFA and the 2018 World Cup organizing committee.

The Egyptian delegation is headed by Karam Kurdy, EFA member and includes: Ehab Lehita, the National team Director; Phanta Jose, General Coach; Mahmoud Fayez, General Coach & Translator; Mohamed Abo el-Ela, the National team doctor; Mohamed Salah, Adminstrator; and Inas Mazhar, Media Representative.

The National Teams Workshop takes place in the Russian city, Sochi, from February 25 to February 28. This workshop will be attended by the national team delegations which qualified for the 2018 World Cup. The workshop’s program includes the organizing aspects of the tournament regarding technical, medical, managerial, accommodation, transportation, security, marketing, and media aspects.

FIFA organizes this kind of workshops to help the national teams be aware of all the organizing aspects concerning the tournament and to allow all the delegations to meet each other and cooperate during the big championship.
Egypt will play against Portugal and Greece during the FIFA international break in March.

The World Cup draw put Egypt in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, Uruguay and the host nation, Russia. Egypt plays their opening against Uruguay on June 15.
