CAIRO – 21 February 2018: Zamalek has bid a request to the Egyptian Football Federation to play their home matches in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup at Suez Stadium.

Zamalek decided earlier to play their home games at Cairo Stadium, Borg El Arab Stadium and Petro Sport Stadium.

Zamalek’s coaching staff was happy with the stadium’s condition, as the stadium hosted Zamalek’s 3-1 victory over Petrojet in the Egyptian League on Monday.

Zamalek asked the Egyptian Football Federation to inform the officials to allow 25,000 Zamalek fans to attend the club’s African games.

Zamalek will play against the winner between Ethiopia’s Welayta Dicha and Zanzibar’s Zimamoto. The first leg in Zanzibar ended with a 1-1 draw.

The Egyptian Football Federation revealed on Wednesday that the officials will allow 25,000 fans to attend games for all the Egyptian teams participating in African competitions.

Zamalek qualified to the CAF Confederation Cup after placing third in the league last season.
