CAIRO – 19 February 2018: The Egyptian Football Association has received the official approval of the security authorities to hold Al Ahly’s next match in the round of 32 of the African Champions League at Borg El Arab Stadium on March 6.
Al Ahly will play against the winner of the game between Burkina Faso's Rail Club du Kadiogo and Centre de Formation de Mounana of Gabon.
The security authorities decided to allow 25,000 spectators to attend the game on March 6, in addition to the availability of 5,000 invitations for the match, according to Youm7. Moreover, the security forces have agreed to the presence of spectators in the matches of the African competitions, according to an agreement with the Ministry of the Interior, which welcomes the presence of the fans in the stands.
In a related context, Tharwat Sweilam, executive director of the EFA, revealed that the security has approved the presence of 300 fans for each team in the second round matches of the current Egyptian Premier League as per the clubs' request.
Sweilam thanked the security forces led by Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar and Assistant Minister of Interior Adel Rashad for helping the clubs to restore the league's normal form and secure the presence of the spectators in the stands.
