CAIRO – 16 February 2018: Al-Ahly succeeded to achieve an easy 1-0 win over Al-Assiouty Sport thanks to their winger, Walid Soliman, in the 24th round of the Egyptian League.

Both teams met at Borg El Arab Stadium in a medium level game. Al-Ahly continued their leadership on the top of the table with 63 points, while Al-Assiouty remained in 12th place with 29 points.

The Red Devils performed very modestly and unlike previous confrontations. All the attacking keys, like Junior Ajayi, Walid Azzarou, Phakamani Mahlambi and Abdullah El Said, who got subbed due to injury, failed to make any clear chances. But Walid Soliman, Said’s substitute, secured the three points after scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot.

Soliman’s goal is the 500th goal in the Egyptian League this season and his 6th goal with Al-Ahly in the domestic competition this season.

Al-Ahly continued their amazing run, as this is the 11th consecutive victory this season.

Next, Al-Ahly faces Al-Nasr in the 25th round of the Egyptian League on Monday, while Al-Assiouty is set to meet El-Entag el-Harby on Tuesday.
