CAIRO – 13 February 2018: Al-Ahly defeated Arab Contractors 5-2 on Monday night in the Egyptian League at Cairo Stadium. Al-Ahly kept their unbeaten run after achieving their 10th consecutive victory in the league.

Al-Ahly opened the score after seven minutes through Walid Azarro, who received an amazing cross from Bakamany Mahlambi that put him on a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper to make the score 1-0.

Nine minutes later, Junior Ajayi doubled the score after a strike from the opponent’s area.

Everyone expected an easy game for Al-Ahly after the second goal, but Arab Contractors had another opinion.

Arab Contractors midfielder Mohamed Farouk made the score 2-1 by a header before the half time.

In the second half, Arab Contractors’ performance improved and they won a penalty after Ajayi tackled their striker, Taher Mohamed, inside the box, and Ahmed Ali converted it to make the score 2-2.

Al-Ahly’s manager substituted Hossam Ashour for Salah Mohsen, who added quality and pace to Al-Ahly’s attacking line, and Al-Ahly scored three goals in the last 15 minutes.

Ajayi added his second goal in the game and the third goal for Al-Ahly after he followed a ball inside Arab Contractors’ box.

Eslam Mohareb secured Al-Ahly’s victory, as he scored Al-Ahly’s fourth goal in the game after a wonderful play with Abdullah El Said.

Azarro then made the score 5-2 only seconds before the final whistle.

Al-Ahly reached 60 points, toping the league table, while Arab Contractors are placed 8th with 31 points.
