CAIRO – 11 February 2018: The Italian Chelsea coach is sending a message to Russian club President Roman Abramovic, asking for support.

"You still have a coach not because of what he does in a season, but because you trust him," Conte said to blame the president.

Antonio Conte is living his worst days this season at Chelsea, despite winning the Premier League title last year.

Chelsea faces West Bromwich Albion after two embarrassing losses in the last two rounds, which put the Italian in a desperate situation with the English press. Luis Enrique would reportedly be Chelsea’s next coach, even for the Champions League match against Barcelona.

“In my opinion, you continue to work with a manager or coach not because of what he achieves in one season, but because you trust in him,” Conte said ahead of Chelsea’s game against West Brom.

“It doesn’t mean you have to win something, because that’s not simple – especially in England. In my vision, you can win, but still the club might not be happy to stay with you – and for this reason, its right to send the coach away. I think there are two ways. There is a stupid way and an ¬intelligent way… At the same time, you can trust in a coach and his work and continue with him even if you don’t win, and try and build something important.”
