CAIRO – 10 February 2018: Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, at 24, is showing a great performance in England, which will make him a big project to the Citizens.

The label of being the second most expensive goalkeeper in the history of football hasn’t prevented him from shining in the Premier League.

Shy off the field and relentless on it, he won the praise of his coach, Pep Guardiola, on Friday in the press conference prior to the clash with Leicester City.

A week ago, Moraes won Burnley coach Sean Dyche’s praise after they played against City.

"He's the quietest goalkeeper I've seen in my life. It's like playing with Ronald Koeman as goalkeeper," Dyche said.

Ederson gave a great performance against Burnley, despite conceding a goal in the 1-1 draw last week, but he saved his team from an unexpected defeat.

The goalkeeper completed a total of 49 passes, making him the Premier League goalkeeper to make the most successful passes in a single match.

Now, there is no one left to question the €40 million ($49 million) paid by Manchester City to bring him from Benfica.

"For me, he is already one of the best goalkeepers in the world," Guardiola said.

Ederson has played 26 league games, and, in 11 of them, he has not conceded a goal. He averages about two saves per game, 26 passes made and an average of 85% success in them.

"He is very young and came here from Portugal. In these cases you never know what will happen – whether he will adapt well or not. We knew his ability to pass, but he also read the game very well and where to give the ball," Guardiola told the press.

After his signing for Manchester City, he has begun to go to the call of his national team, Brazil, where he is for now the substitute of Allisson, Roma’s goalkeeper.

"The most important thing is that he is very calm. He fits the position, and he's quiet. He makes an extraordinary save and remains calm," said Guardiola.

The level of the Brazilian has made him worthy of winning a place among the best goalkeepers of the Premier League, along with De Gea or Courtois.

He has everything to end up becoming a dominant goalkeeper, and Pep is clear, having said, "He has to improve, but will be one of the 'top' of the coming years; no doubt."
