CAIRO – 4 February 2018: Mohamed Salah has reached 21 Premier League goals for Liverpool in a single season quicker than any other player in the club's history (25 games).

Salah featured for Liverpool in their 2-2 draw against Tottenham in the 26th round of the English Premier League.

Salah’s total of Premier League goals has now reached 23, making him highest scoring Egyptian player in the Premier League moving past his compatriot Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ who scored 22 goals in his Premier League career.

Harry Kane also scored his 100th Premier League goal for Tottenham after 141 league appearances.

Mohamed Salah was awarded African Player of the Year, in Accra, Ghana where the CAF 2017 ceremony was held. He nominated was alongside his Liverpool teammate, Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Arsenal and Gabon player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Salah, 25, is arguably the most accomplished athlete in Egypt as of the last three years. As a symbol of success, Liverpool’s right-winger is changing young people’s attitudes and mentalities.

Salah has broken many records this season with the Egyptian football national team and his club Liverpool FC. The talented fast winger helped the Egyptian national team qualify for the World Cup finals to be held next summer in Russia. Egypt had not qualified for the World Cup in 28 years.

Salah has had an amazing season with Liverpool, scoring 27 goals for his team, including 21 goals in the Premier League, to be the league’s second top goal scorer after Harry Kane with 22 goals.
Salah was awarded the the EA Sports Player of the Month award in November 2017.

Mohamed Salah won the Professional Footballer’s Association’s Player of the Month award for both December and November of 2017.

Salah received the BBC’s African Player of the Year award and became the third Egyptian to win such an award after Mohamed Barakat, who won the award in 2005, and Mohamed Aboutrika, who won it in 2008.
