CAIRO – 29 January 2018: Valencia winger Rodrigo Moreno recalled his team’s 7-0 loss to Barcelona in 2016 at Barcelona’s stadium, Camp Nou. This result informed the Valencia board’s decision to sack their English manager, Gary Neville.

“Two years ago it was very unpleasant, one of the toughest days, without a doubt. I don't think we want to go looking for revenge,” Rodrigo told press on Monday.

Barcelona defeated Valencia 7-0, where Luis Suarez scored four goals and Lionel Messi scored the other three.

Rodrigo believes in his team’s ability to eliminate Barcelona, he said, “since then, we have had matches against Barcelona in which we have competed. We have to go with the idea that it's not a League match since we have the time at the Estadio Mestalla to confirm our passage to the final.”

Rodrigo scored Valencia’s goal at their 1-1 draw against Barcelona at the Spanish League this season.

Barcelona will host Valencia on Thursday at the Spanish Cup semi-final first leg. The second leg is scheduled for February 8.
